Group Fitness Classes are fun and inviting classes open to members and day pass users. and . Classes are designed to guide you through focused workouts, led by our team of amazing professionally certified Group Fitness Instructors and Trainers, and are open to all fitness levels. Class capacities are limited.
The following classes are included in the Recreation Center membership.
MOVE & GROVE
A high-energy dance fitness class combining line dancing, drumsticks, and Latin beats for a total body workout.

HATHA YOGA
Focus on breathing techniques, light stretching, and holding yoga poses to enhance flexibility in a calm, relaxed environment, designed to increase mobility and improve balance.

RHYTHM RIDE CYCLE
Take a ride and improve your strength and cardio endurance matching the revolutions to the beat and rhythm of the music.

CARDIO HIIT
A pure cardio experience that gives you a heart pumping workout with high energy dance, kick-boxing, and step aerobics.

A class for all skill and experience levels that focuses on building stability and endurance through the foundations of alignment.

METABOLIC MAYHEM
Burns calories, build strength, and boost endurance with a mix of high energy circuits, intervals, and functional movements.

HARD CORE
Target the core muscles (abs, back, hips, obliques) from every angle in this 30-minute high-intensity hard core workout.

LINE DANCE FITNESS
Energizing choreography and music combine for a dynamic workout that enhances coordination in this fun cardio experience.

GANG GREEN
More than a class, this advanced fitness group takes on the GREEN turf with a dynamic blend of conditioning and strength training using barbells, kettlebells, sleds, ropes, boxes and more.

YOUTH FITNESS
YOUTH FITNESS ORIENTATION

The Youth Fitness Orientation (YFO) is required of all members ages of 11 to 17 wanting to access the Fitness Floor. The YFO introduces young members to the Rec Center Fitness Floor, teaching them gym etiquette and protocol, proper machine and equipment use, Fitness Floor Rules, and, of course, safety.

GRIT Sports Performance Training
GRIT (Get Ready, It’s Time) is all about training your body and mind for when your name is called. GRIT helps you train smarter, get stronger, and develop the mindset to perform at your best, believe in yourself, and dominate!

NEURO KNOCKOUT
Neuro Knockout is a dynamic and engaging fitness class designed specifically for individuals living with any neurological condition or disease such as Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and stroke.
This innovative program combines the excitement of mitt work boxing combinations with targeted strength, core, and balance exercises to improve overall physical and cognitive function.

55 & Better Group Fitness
TAI CHI FOR HEALTH
Recognized by the National Council on Aging, the CDC and the Arthritis Foundation, Tai Chi for Health is specifically designed to decrease pain, and falls, as well as strengthen socialization and overall wellbeing. Participants will benefit through improved movement, balance, strength, flexibility, and relaxation.
Program space is limited.

BASEx – Balance, Active, Strength, Exercise
BASEx increases stability and strength to improve agility, mobility and confidence. Participants learn brain/body coordination through a repetitive movement routine, including Bal-A-Vis-X rhythmic patterns, eye-tracking, and cross-meridian training. This is a safe environment where all participate to the best of their ability. We work to lift wellbeing and challenge the idea that aging is a condition. Program space is limited.

SILVER & STRONG
Designed to take a step up in intensity from the BASE program, this class helps active older adults transition to the fitness floor, through increased movement and strength exercises helping participants achieve their full fitness potential.

PRIVATE GROUP FITNESS CLASSES
Group classes sometimes aren’t for everyone or don’t quite meet everyone’s schedule. That’s why the AH Fitness Team now offers instructor led private group fitness for you and your friends or co-workers to get fit, and have fun at your own pace. Groups can select and book 50-minute classes from the existing Group Fitness Schedule. Some classes may be excluded.
All classes are scheduled based on instructor availability.
Personal Training
The Airway Heights Recreation Center Personal Training Program offers one on one instruction with one of our certified Personal Trainers. Trainers work to develop a path that is specific, achievable, and relevant to YOU.
Personal Training includes:

- Structured sessions to maximize time in the gym.
- Monthly InBody analysis to track physical progress

Meet the Trainers & Instructors
JARED
Managing the Fitness Floor is great, but training clients and teaching groups is his passion. With 20 years in the fitness industry, Jared loves training beginners to older adults, helping them to develop strength and confidence within.
KEVIN
Kevin started in the fitness industry over 28 years ago while on active duty. She has a Master’s degree in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology and is a Registered Dietitian as well as a Registered Nurse. She has managed several military Health and Wellness centers and has been certified in Personal Training, Spinning, 200 hr Yoga Training, Group Fitness and Ironman Triathlon coaching. She has been an avid road and trail runner for over 48 years and completed over 60 triathlons to include 4 Ironman distance races.
DILLON
Dillon has been Personal Training since 2017, and with years of experience comes the ability to work with a wide array of clients with varying abilities and goals. With a passion to help others, he is able to develop smart and achievable goals and give you the tools to succeed. Whether your goal is to lose weight, build muscle, or just improve quality of life Dillon will help you to reach your goals and more.
ALY
My love for fitness started in high school, playing volleyball, lifting weights, and doing yoga. This love helped to create the passion I have for helping others change their lives using exercise. I am an exercise science major pre OT with a minor in personal training graduating in spring of 2023, an ACE Certified Personal Trainer, and have a 200-hour yoga certification in power and vinyasa yoga.
DAN
Dan’s route to fitness started with his own passion of athletics, nutrition, and maximizing his own potential. He wants to spread the joy and love he has for fitness to others. He enjoys working with the youth and helping them prepare for their individual sports as well as helping anyone achieve their fitness goals.
KATRINA
An ACE certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor, Katrina’s passion is to provide tools to live a healthy life despite age. If not teaching group fitness, she is running trails and training for my next race. Come and enjoy a ride with challenging hill climbs and killer sprints with great tunes and black lights. I encourage riders to push beyond mental limits to reach new ground – mentally and physically. Get ready to sweat, and let Katrina push you right out of your comfort zone.
PAULA
A fan of low-impact exercises to accommodate physical limitations, Paula has welcomed the opportunity to adapt a routine for our new B.A.S.E. (Balance, Active, Strength, Exercise) class, as well as teaching various Tai Chi classes. She regularly shares tidbits about nutrition and health from her continuous research on wellness and longevity.
CARYN
In 2003, I began my fitness journey as a gym receptionist. This experience introduced me to kickboxing, HIIT, and water aerobics, sparking a lifelong passion for fitness, becoming a group fitness instructor. I believe in the power of fitness to transform lives and am eager to help others achieve their goals as I continue on my journey towards becoming a certified personal trainer.
MELISSA
Melissa is an energetic and enthusiastic group fitness instructor. She blends high-intensity workouts with irresistibly fun dance moves, making you sweat, lunge, and squat without even realizing it- you’ll be having too much fun. When she’s not teaching, Melissa channels her passion into road, trail, and ultra running. Her ultimate mission is to inspire and empower others to feel and move their best, celebrating the joy of fitness in every step.
CASSANDRA
Cassandra has over eight years of experience in fitness and holds a Bachelor’s in Kinesiology. Specializing in functional strength and mobility, she’s passionate about helping women navigate life transitions like post menopause and supporting clients of all fitness levels. With a supportive and empowering approach, Cassandra focuses on sustainable progress to help her clients feel confident and strong.
CAESAR
Developing strength has been, and always will be my passion. Through Power lifting competitions combined with my Exercise Science degree I have learned how to connect with younger athletes as they start their journey towards strength and performance as well as with active older adults as they strive to stay in the game.
