Park Advisory Board
The Park Board advises, and assists City Staff in the park planning and development process, as well as supports and promotes Parks & Recreation programs. Interested applicants must be a resident of Airway Heights for at least one year continuously prior to date of application, currently registered to vote, and be willing to be a part of a dynamic team dedicated to the future of Airway Heights. Board members serve three-year terms. All meetings are held the first Thursday of each month at the Community Center at 5:30PM.
Youth Advisory Commission
The Youth Advisory Commission (YAC) works to help plan activities, trips, and events for teens in Airway Heights. The YAC also works with teens to help build up college/job resumes, gain community service hours, and improve leadership skills. The YAC is open to middle school and high school students and all meetings are open for general attendance. Please contact the Parks & Rec department for the next scheduled meeting.
Senior Advisory Commission
The Senior Advisory Commission works to engage senior citizens and utilize their particular insight and opinions on the issues affecting the senior population in the community planning and organizing activities, trips, classes, and presentations. The goal of the Senior Advisory Commission is to enrich and enhance the health and quality of life of seniors in the community by making recommendations on matters pertaining to the senior population, especially as it relates to Parks & Recreation programs and projects. Meetings of the commission shall be held once each month on the third Tuesday of each month at 2:00pm in the Airway Heights Recreation Center.
Volunteering
Volunteers are a great asset to any program and help to keep our community connected and engaged. Airway Heights Parks Recreation offers a variety of volunteer opportunities such as: Youth Sports Coach, Special Event, Community Class Instructors, High School Graduation Hours, and more.
All Volunteers must complete a Volunteer Application form and a Criminal History Background Check prior to becoming an official volunteer. Volunteer Applications must be turned into the Parks Recreation Office at:
