Director’s Letter: Fall/Winter26

Fall is a beautiful time of year for our parks and a fun change of pace for our programs. As the air gets cooler and leaves begin to cover the ground, we look forward to a season filled with opportunities for Airway Heights residents to seek health and wellness, personal enrichment and social activity, and community engagement. Through sports, art, fitness, and more we have something for everyone to enjoy.

This season I’d also like to I’d like to express my gratitude as I to step into the Interim Director of Parks & Recreation position. I am honored to serve our community in this role. Having worked for this department for 23 years, I have had the opportunity to grow, and work alongside some incredible individuals, and see firsthand the positive impact our parks, programs, and events have on the community. It is my goal to carry on the legacy of providing places, programs, and experiences that our community values and enjoys. Thank you for the opportunity!

I look forward to seeing you out in our parks, participating in our programs, and enjoying our events this fall and winter!

Thank you,

Andy Gardner
Interim Parks & Recreation Director
