TIPPING OFF A NEW ERA FOR 4REC YOUTH SPORTS

Airway Heights Parks & Rec and 4Rec Youth Sports are excited to launch a new chapter of youth sports as the first season of boys and girls basketball is officially set to tip off. With more than 80 girls registered across the four 4Rec communities, the initiative to increase participation among girls ages 9 to 12 is already showing success. To support this goal, the collaboration between Airway Heights, Cheney, and Medical Lake Parks & Rec Departments, along with Fairchild AFB Youth Programs, focused on creating both boys and girls divisions for the older age groups. This structure aims to boost participation, especially for girls ages 9 to 12, while ensuring all athletes can build skills and confidence by playing with and against their peers.

By organizing divisions that prioritize fairness, fun, and positive team experiences, 4Rec is committed to giving every athlete the opportunity to grow, succeed, and enjoy the game.

This milestone marks an exciting step not only for the 4Rec basketball program, but also for future opportunities in soccer, volleyball, and flag football. With strong participation and rising enthusiasm, the future of youth sports looks bright across the West Plains.
