Sue Hines has been donating flowers to the Airway Heights Parks and Recreation Senior Lunch Program since July of 2017. As a small business owner and floral expert, Sue saw an opportunity to bring joy to people’s day through her passion by donating small floral arrangements to our weekly Senior Lunch program. This kind gesture has brought a life to the lunch tables, often sparking conversations amongst attendees new and returning over the beautiful centerpieces placed on each table. With such an amazing response to her weekly contribution to our senior group, Sue soon turned to sharing her skills and knowledge offering affordable Floral Arrangement classes as a part of our General Interests program for adults. These classes have covered creating your own of holiday centerpieces and wall decor, to simple and elegant arrangements to brighten your home.
Sue also volunteers her time all around the Greater Spokane area as a supporter of the MidCity Senior Center & Meals on Wheels Program. She has worked with women at the Union Gospel Mission to design centerpieces for the Meals on Wheels drivers to deliver to homes.
Sue will be continuing her fun and creative classes during the Winter/Spring session helping men build Valentine’s bouquets for their sweethearts, creating a beautiful Easter centerpiece, and giving those curious minds a breakdown on basic floral designs in her 101 class.
Thank you Sue for all your time and effort sharing your passion for flowers and your wonderful charm with us!
