The Recreation Center will open when Spokane County is approved to move to Phase 3 of the Governor’s reopening plan.
The capacity of the facility will be at 50% of the maximum occupancy for each area of the facility. With the State of Washington re-opening for business in a smart, methodical way it is important for the City of Airway Heights to begin phasing in the important elements of parks and recreation for the health and enjoyment of all our citizens – but to do so in a responsible, sanitary and safe way.
This plan will give the City of Airway Heights the ability to reopen the Recreation Center with reasonable and safe expectations.
The reopening of the Rec Center will require new procedures for members and staff, along with changes and restrictions to services and amenities previously provided. Here is what to expect when we open:
Signage posted instructing patrons exhibiting symptoms not to enter.
Staff required to wear PPE.
Plexiglas barriers at customer service desk to eliminate the chance of breath aerosol spreading the virus.
Regular cleaning and disinfecting of surfaces with antimicrobial solution.
Increased number of sanitizer stations throughout the building.
Handwashing and/or hand sanitizer use required immediately upon facility entry.
Max count of patrons in the facility at a time based on number of discreet and segregated areas.
Patrons must maintain 6 feet of social distancing while signing in to use the facility.
Members utilizing lobby furniture required to spread out to maintain social distance from those not in their immediate family/group.The pool table, foosball table and ping pong table will not be available in the initial phase of re-opening.
